The Phat Shear got it's name because it's been called "Pretty Hot and Tasty." The holes in the blade make the shears feel more balanced in the hand. The blade is lighter because of the 5 holes in the blade, but without giving up anything on the natural power behind the edges.  Weight is 3.8 oz with size C finger holes.
